An American multi-brand, multi-channel, specialty retailer is seeking a UX Design Engineer to bridge visual design and front-end development to elevate their product design and prototyping practice. This position is a remote 6-month contract opportunity encouraging candidates residing in the US to apply. No C2C or Third-Party agencies.

UX Design Engineer Requirements:
  • 5+ years of a strong foundation in UX design principles combined with hands-on front-end development experience.
  • Expertise in React and modern web technologies (HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript).
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools like Figma, ProtoPie, Framer or similar.
  • Experience with iOS prototyping tools and development patterns.
  • Ability to rapidly prototype and iterate design concepts.
  • Understanding of design systems and component-based architecture.

UX Design Engineer Responsibilities:
  • Work closely with the design and engineering teams to create high-fidelity, interactive prototypes that validate design concepts and technical feasibility across their web (React) and iOS platforms. Drive the full product lifecycle, including requirement definitions, technical specifications, development, testing, performance metrics, and launch strategies.
  • Create advanced interactive prototypes to validate design concepts, user flows, and animations before full development.
  • Partner with UX designers to bring conceptual ideas to life through code, ensuring design fidelity and optimal user experience.
  • Build and maintain a library of reusable prototype components that align with their design system.
  • Lead the advancement of their prototyping practice and tools, establishing best practices and workflows.
  • Support design reviews with working prototypes that demonstrate interaction patterns, transitions, and responsive behaviors.
  • Collaborate with front-end engineers to ensure prototype concepts can be efficiently translated into production code.
