Category Manager (Tobacco) Perks:
  • Category Ownership: Lead the strategy for a high-revenue, tightly regulated product category. You’ll serve as the subject matter expert in tobacco product merchandising, from pricing to promotions to vendor partnerships, and play a key role in shaping how these products show up in-store.

Category Manager (Tobacco) Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, merchandising, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in category management, merchandising, or product strategy within retail, convenience, or CPG industries.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience managing direct reports or cross-functional teams.
  • Previous experience in a regulated product category, tobacco strongly preferred.
  • Proven track record of data-driven decision making, pricing strategy, and successful vendor negotiation.

Category Manager (Tobacco) Responsibilities:
  • Own the development and execution of the national strategy for the tobacco product category, ensuring alignment with both corporate goals and local market demands.
  • Analyze sales trends, consumer insights, and market data to inform pricing strategies, promotional planning, and product assortment.
  • Lead vendor relationships and negotiations to drive favorable terms, exclusive opportunities, and performance-driven programs
  • Partner with store operations to ensure accurate implementation of planograms, promotions, and pricing strategies. Troubleshoot any in-market challenges.
  • Launch and manage in-store tests and pilots, from concept to communication to results analysis. Scale insights into broader initiatives.
  • Collaborate with internal partners in legal, compliance, finance, and marketing to maintain category compliance and drive customer engagement
