Marketing Project Manager/Segment Lead (Direct Mail)
A global financial company is seeking a Marketing Project Manager/Segment Lead (Direct Mail) to join the Richmond, VA Marketing team. This is a long-term contract opportunity that is hybrid-remote. Local candidates are encouraged to apply and required to be onsite 3 days per week.
The Marketing Project Manager / Segment Lead (Direct Mail) leads the development and implementation of business intent and requirements for direct mail marketing and product strategies focused on new customer acquisition. Works cross-functionally, to develop clear business intent and requirements for the marketing initiative.

Marketing Project Manager/Segment Lead (Direct Mail) Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent military experience.
- 3+ years of experience in direct mail optimization or a related area.
- 2+ years of experience specifically in business process management, marketing project management, or relationship management.
- Demonstrated experience managing internal and external vendor relationships and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
- Proven experience measuring performance and translating data into actionable objectives.
- Standard soft skills: autonomous, collaborative, problem solver, excellent listener, and communicator in both written and verbal.
- Ability to properly prioritize, estimate accurate timelines for process steps, and move things through the process.
- G-suite and Slack knowledge is a plus.
- Lean or Six Sigma certification, preferred.
Marketing Project Manager/Segment Lead (Direct Mail) Responsibilities:
- Partner with business intent owners and cross-functional teams to define objectives, clarify business requirements, and align strategies for new product launches.
- Identify potential risks early in the product development process and collaborate with stakeholders to develop effective mitigation strategies.
- Lead the creation and ongoing refinement of detailed process documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and regulatory compliance.
- Drive continuous process improvements by analyzing existing workflows, soliciting feedback, and implementing best practices to enhance team efficiency.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on project deliverables and actions to ensure all outputs meet required standards and are error-free.
- Serve as a subject matter expert, offering guidance and support to both internal colleagues and external partners, and addressing complex questions or issues as they arise.
- Monitor the progression of risk mitigation activities, tracking status updates and ensuring timely resolution of outstanding findings.
- Adapt quickly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment, effectively balancing regular business operations with urgent, market-driven problem-solving needs.
- Troubleshoot emerging issues in real time, taking ownership to resolve errors and minimize impact to ongoing operations.
- Continuously seek opportunities to streamline processes, reduce inefficiencies, and improve the overall product lifecycle experience.
- Stay current on product offerings, changes, and upcoming launches within the card acquisitions space to ensure alignment with organizational strategy.
- Maintain accurate, up-to-date monthly dashboards and reports to track performance metrics and communicate progress to leadership.
